How many characters can you name out of the picture above? I admit I can name two: Meredith Grey and Dr. McDreamy (but knowing that answer was school related). Grey's Anatomy has been a huge hit in the U.S., but it hasn't tapped into my tv schedule. I simply prefer other shows. What I find interesting is my exclusion in conversations because I don't watch the show. Here is what happens:
Friend: Hey... did you see this week's Grey's Anatomy?
Me: No.
Friend: But you watch it, right?
Me: No.
Friend: Oh. Nevermind. *Silence*
(End Conversation)
I think it's funny, but this has happened to me at least three times this past month. Crazy.
A pox on that show. I don't watch it either. My roommate called me one night:
ReplyDeleteRoomie: Hey what tonight is at 8 o'clock!
Me: uhhh, what?
Roomie: (in an excited voice) It's the season premier of Grey's Anatomy!
Me: uhhh...ok.
Roomie: you don't watch it? I thought you did. Never mind then. Well, I guess I'll talk to you later.
I tried watching the show. It over dramatizes the lives of doctors and it's been done. ER! Anyone remember that show?
I know the feeling - it actually happened to me tonight! I called someone and she told me she'd call back in 30 minutes when GA was over. What's worse - this was a girl I just met on eHarmony and this was the first time I tried to call her! Hmm... Off to a good start. Is that an omen?!?
ReplyDeleteBut actually, this is the exact same feeling I get pretty year-round, year-after-year because of a similar thing: I have no desire to watch full-grown men in tights play games with each other. Chiefs Schmeifs.
Oh, and Good point, trinity_garcia.
ReplyDeleteThe deification of doctors has been done. Same for lawyers (many times), and cops, and even designing women (Lord help us.)
How about a show focusing on the fascinating lives of engineers? Wouldn't that be great?!! :)
